Most of Geoscope stations are real time and connected to Internet. The connexion type depends on the station environment : Adsl, VSat, Local University Network.

Lightning Protection

Lightning is one of the main risks of failure for seismic stations. Therefore a lightning protection DIREL is installed between the station electrical network and the local electrical network. The DIREL system detects lightning electrical field and physically separate by 10cm the electrical contacts on the station side from the electrical contacts on the electrical network side. The propagation of lightning or over voltage is stopped. In case of non detection, gas lightning protection are installed also
